Relational database from MariaDB Corporation Ab developed in C, C ++, Perl and Bash. It was created as a fork of MySQL due to maintaining the license of the free GNU GPL software after the sale of MySQL to Oracle.

MySQL and MariaDB APIs with protocols are compatible. However, MariaDB also includes some extra features. Most web applications such as Wordpress, Joomla, DokuWIKI, Drupal and others work without problems with MariaDB.

We use the MariaDB relational database for DB server installations or for SQL slave needs.
